Transitioning from the Caribbean Sun to Winter Knits
Gday, fellow knitters! Before we left for the tropics I finished my pinky purple cardigan. It turned out just as I envisioned, soft and cozy, a sort of one size fits all result. The model is not me as I do not have such generous curves. I will provide a link to the pattern..But now, as I’m back from the Caribbean and settling into the snowy season, it’s time to dive into my next knitting project.
What Am I Knitting Now?
So, what sweater am I knitting now, you ask? Well I need a sweater to replace a comfortable black drapy version i have been wearing for years. The old garment has lots of pilling on it but it is still very comfortable and appropriate for the warm interior of our apartment . Not too heavy , not too light. So I have settled on a project also from the bespoke book that the pink/purple cardigan came from. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, there will be other projects which will overlay with this one. That's the beauty or the curse of being a obsessive knitty, crafter.
The Countdown to Holiday Knitting
As I get into the rhythm of this new project, I’m also keeping in mind the fact that the holiday season is almost upon us. I have a few family and friends to knit gifts for here in Canada, and some of them will receive unique handmade creations. Time is of the essence, though – I need to knit some Christmas gifts in a hurry!
I’ve got my eyes set on a few simple yet charming patterns for the gift knitting. From cozy scarves to snug mittens, I plan to make a few simple pieces. It’s all about the joy of giving and seeing those smiles on their faces when they unwrap something special!
If you’re also gearing up for the holiday rush, I’d love to hear what you’re working on. Are you making gifts or perhaps treating yourself to a new piece? Let’s share the inspiration and keep our needles clicking!
Happy knitting, everyone! Let’s embrace the snowy season with creativity and warmth. Can’t wait to show you all my finished sweater and perhaps a sneak peek of the gifts in progress!
